Which top schools have the most down to earth and non-snobby students? I am under the impression that HYP have snobby students. Penn and Brown supposedly have cooler students.

I think that is too general a statement to be basing your choices on.
Have you visited some college campuses yet?

The biggest snobs I ever met went to Colby and Washington & Lee.

I'm not making my college choice based on these general statements. I just want to hear some colleges that are known for cool students so that I can make sure to visit them or at least keep them in mind

Rice, Pomona, and WashU are pretty chill.

But then again, keep in mind all colleges will have their snobby and down-to-earth people.

Overall, however, the general atmospheres at the above schools are pretty chill and down-to-earth.

Ivy League wise Colombia and Brown have chill students. LAC wise Kenyon, Reed, and Pomona are all pretty chill.

though most people don't think so, yale has some pretty down to earth students. it's a very chill environment and most students aren't cutthroat or snobby at all.

You'll find all types in all places. I have two daughters at Harvard, and have never met an overtly snobby person among their friends. In fact, it's been said that entering the Harvard student body is the world's most humbling experience; you learn to check your ego at the gate.

^lolz that's not what i heard about harvard at all. haha. H and P in my impression are the snobbiest and most pretentious of all ivies...or so i heard

From my experience, William and Mary is much less snobby than comparable schools

Most West Coast schools (sans USC) are pretty down to earth, especially the liberal art schools like the Claremonts, Reed, Lewis & Clark, Puget Sound, and Seattle University along with such public schools as Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, Oregon State, Evergreen State, and ESPECIALLY Humboldt, San Francisco State, and Sonoma.

I agree with Fangsup15, and speaking VERY generally, I would imagine that west coast schools are much more "chill" than east coast schools. I would also generally say that midwest schools have some of the most friendly students anywhere. Of course, individual schools have unique personalities. Any school that draws heavily from the
tri-state area, is not going to be described overall as "chill", IMO. And I'm originally from the tri-state area.

I often get to visit my child at the U of Chicago and I am always impressed at how down to earth the students there are. Very unpretentious and interested in learning rather than in prestige or materialism.

T-shirt at Va Tech.

"UVA- Where the grades are inflated and so are the egos"

good one swish
