Most liberal schools

I don't find your posts "funny". And I am not a dude. People using this forum are supposed to treat each other with common courtesy. Time to start.

UC santa cruz is VERY liberal. to the point that i don't know a single person on campus who didn't vote either democrat or green in the last election. including professors.

Sarah Lawrence is pretty liberal. And UCB. Bard too.

Yeah, I think it's more difficult to find conservative colleges. Most college students i'd say are not too conservative unless you're deeply religious or so. Maybe i'm just generalizing, but I really doubt many colleges are too conservative anyway.

MHO

Reed. I live in Portland, and the fact that they are so liberal scared me from applying.

At Reed they hang all the freshman conservatives. lol. jk. Conservativies at Reed are very rare from what I hear. Actually, nearly every major school in Oregon is really really liberal. Nearly every single teacher I have had throughout middle school and high school were liberals. That's why I need to get out!

Oh really? Does the name BYU ring a bell?

The Evergreen State College is liberal to the point of supporting every underdog (or perceived underdog) cause there is. The school has a social contract which states that everyone must respect each other's views, but it's not followed.

Jym...if you are going on this forum at 6:30 in the morning, you have no right to complain about other people wasting your time.

To whoever said Dartmouth is a conservative school...it really isn't, and definitely nowhere politically near UVA or Duke. Yeah, the Dartmouth Review is a vocal conservative group, but they're practically the only conservatives...they just make the most noise. Dartmouth was pretty much responsible for New Hampshire swinging towards Kerry, there was like a candlelight vigil the night after he conceded...in short, quite a lot of liberal fervor.

Coureur

Lol. You got me, I totally forgot about BYU. Well there you have it BYU. I will now leave this thread for good.

I can't believe that after 3 pages of postings no one mentioned Wisconsin. Come on, Badgers!

We used to be the most liberal campus this side of the Rockies. I hope it hasn't changed that much.

Add to the list of conservative-leaning schools: St. Olaf, Wheaton (Il.), Furman, Wake Forest, Baylor, Texas Christian U, Rollins, Stetson, Santa Clara U, Southern Methodist U, University of San Diego, Trinity U (Texas), Denison, Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall. Some of these are religious, some just attract more "middle of the road" students.

kewkiekid, the green party tends to be on the right end of the political spectrum

Hey thedude3,

You are really really wrong. The green party is really left, and the green usually takes away votes from the democratic nominee, so the green party is great for soley that reason.

well green here is very leftist.

Hillsdale College is a conservative LAC- founded as such. I've heard that Vanderbilt and Notre Dame are conservative. ANy number of schools affiliated with churches are conservative (Grove City College, Liberty U,, Ave Maria, etc).

xanatos-
It does not matter what time people log in-- some of us are not students and do not have the priviledge of sleeping in-- some of us work for a living and have to be in our offices early in the morning. Accordingly, it is not helpful when people decide to post silly things, seemingly for the purpose of merely posting. There is no need to post garbage on a forum that people use for practical purposes. We are entitled to posts out opinions at any hour. You certainly seem to demonstrate that.

it was a joke. It took, what, 2 seconds to read his post? I know that may still be wasting time technically, but it was harmless.
I don't want to be disrespectful to you jym, but I think you are over-reacting. It's taking more time replying negatively to his post, is it not?
No offense meant though.
Macalester is pretty liberal.
My friend goes to there said that they actively seek out conservatives on campus because there are so few, they want opposition, which makes plenty of sense. Just because one might be a conservative doesn't mean they can't share their opinions with others. Same with liberals. I'm liberal myself, but I want some sort of a balance. I like to see the opposing side present their argument in a friendly manner.

any of the ohio 5 schools (with the exception of denison): oberlin, ohio wesleyan university, kenyon and wooster.

Jym,

I fail to see the big deal. Do you feel like it's a chore to be on these boards? I mean, worst case, just opt not to read the joke posts.

Xantos I 100% agree. There is another thread saying "Conservative Colleges: Like Dartmouth" I don't get it. Sure, there is a conservative force that is loud (about 20 kids on the review) but overall the student body is much more liberal.
