What is the most likely reason for a student to be rejected from St. John’s college? This is the school I really want to go to. I’ve heard most of the admission is in the essays and interview. Is a student more likely to be rejected for being uninteresting in their essays or interviews or are they often rejected for having too low a gpa? Is it possible to be rejected if your essay and interview go really well but your gpa and academic record are too low?
I’d also like to add that I’m a High school student who has had some mediocre to low grades here and there freshman and sophomore year (dealt with some mental health issues) but has done very well (mostly As) junior year and plan to senior year as well. Obviously I wasn’t able to take SATs this year due to the covid-19. I’ve been reading classic works of literature from very young age (I read Moby Dick when I was 12) and have been an avid reader and writer since. Outside of school I’ve studied Latin and plan to take the Latin AP test. I’ve taught myself music theory and piano. I’ve taken AP classes so I should graduate with about a 3.0 though the record will be a bit messy. I want very badly to go to the school and I feel like it fits me perfectly but I’m worried that my grades will be unacceptable.
I hoped that someone would respond because I am interested in more information about admissions at St John’s. I hope you got an acceptance.
