How did all of you manage to say how your most important EC was so important to you in 150 words or less? I’ve tried at least 4 different ways of writing this short answer (only part of app I can’t finish) and the shortest I can make it is about 300 words! Is it supposed to be at all detailed or “revelational” or basically “I like ______ because it showed me how to ______ and motivated me to _______”?

<p>I cheated and took like 227 words. It used to be 300+ words. Really concentrate on what your point is and delete and word, sentence, or phrase that doesn't contribute to that point or any examples that are unnecessary. My format was the following:
Paragraph 1: a brief scene with me presenting my research
Paragraph 2: how debate prepared me well for presentations, that I learned confidence and communication skills
Paragraph 3: my experience with debate was meaningful and led to 1) me taking on a leadership position and 2) preparing me for a career in math/science</p>
<p>I'd like to think it's very well written and kinda assume that the extra length won't be a problem. I like it a lot at least. I'd be happy to post the actual essay, but I'm paranoid someone might copy it and paste it into their application. (Although if anyone actually used the exact essay that I did I don't think it would work for them... It'd be clear that they didn't write it.) </p>
<p>What is your most meaningful activity and why is it meaningful? Maybe we can help brainstorm ways to approach the question.</p>
