Most my Colleges Don't Say Anything about SAT Subject Tests- Should I really take them?

So, the December 3rd registration deadline for SAT subject tests is quickly approaching and…I’m not exactly sure of whether it’s worth taking them…I do have thanksgiving break next week… so I could potentially cram for TWO tests. The two tests would be Math II and Chemistry. I did prep for Math II in the summer and I know I could definitely do some review and do alright on the test…but Chemistry is where I’m unsure…Although I took AP Chemistry, I was not the best student…so I’m worried of whether I can review everything in almost a week and a half.

Most of the colleges that I am applying to do mention subject tests. For one though, if I want to get into Honors college, they recommend having taken SAT subject tests…The regular decision for this college is December 1st…so taking the subject tests by December would mean I’d send my scores in by January time…I have another couple colleges that I’m applying early action to and their deadline is December 15th. The majority of other colleges I’m applying to have decisions in January.

So, is it worth it to take the Subject tests in December or try and push them back even more or just not take them? I could hypothetically just take Math II and do well…but…I’m not sure of what is the best plan of action. I would have taken them earlier, but long story short- general SAT conflict- I got sick when I was going to take the October one and had to take the November one instead.

It sounds like the only college that suggests them has a deadline preceding the test date. so it’s too late. I think you should not take it and not worry about it further. Good luck!

Thank you for your advice. I think I will take at least the Math II this December since it may help with admissions to other college and I do have to double check
