NYU - the place has no campus and blows besides location & stern

I'm with Mike99. NYU, for sure.

Here we go again. Somebody call Ivy Grad.

Here I am. Actually with regards to Cornell, I've gone on record to say that my opinion is that it is the weakest Ivy. (Please do a search for my previous detailed explanation and analysis as to why).

HOWEVER THAT SAID,

Cornell is still certainly one of the top universities in the nation, and definitely not the most overrated.

I have avoided this thread for the longest time but I guess after reading all these posts that the fires have died down a bit and I can finally express my opinion :)

Overrated: Emory, Notre Dame, WUSTL.
I do not believe Emory has the name/connections or academics out there and that it is basically leeching off its Med School.
Notre Dame is a fine school but it should be in the 25s based on academics and reputation again (look at Georgetown).
WUSTL needs no real support. Massives spending on marketing and waitlisting strategies (not even releasing waitlist info). Quite "shady" and should not be around with Georgetown as well.

And all along I though you WERE a Cornell man...

Cornell, Emory, WashU, any number of LAC's because I personally just would never want to go to one

I think Cornell deserves the ranking it is given.

Personally, I feel that Duke, Penn, and WUSTL are given way too high rankings. They're all good schools, though.

Penn isn't overrated at all. Wharton is Penn, and Wharton is sooooo much above and beyond its nearest competitor that it alone should give the entire university its high ranking. But, I still think they suck cause they rejected me.

NYU in general and Harvard for undergrad.

smitter - Wharton alone is enough to place Penn above MIT and Stanford? I think you're giving it too much credit.

Wharton isn't Penn. I find the notion ridiculous. IN fact, don't most students at Penn not attend Wharton? It might be a star program, but Penn has other amazing programs as well. Top 5? I wouldn't know. But a small section of a college isn't the college as a whole, and shouldn't be viewed as such.

I'd say Duke is equivalent to any school not HYPSM or better and that Wash U and Emory are the two most overrated with Cornell following close behind.

Anybody who says Cornell is overrated has no clue. Cornell and Brown are quite possibly the most underrated Ivies, and their overall ranking according to the USNWR is definitely earned. In fact, I'd say they can both make a legitimate case for being ranked higher.

WashU is the whore of colleges.

"underrated Ivies"

There is no such thing. (at least on cc)

I totally agree with Alexandre on that.

Same here, Cornell and Brown are underrated if anything.

ucsd location location location

Harvard. I think it definately is one of the best universities in the world, but seriously no school deserves the reputation Harvard has.

Contrary to popular belief, Harvard students and faculty can't walk on water or use their touch to cure lepers.

they can too! i read it in their view book
