Georgetown is Underrated

Just thought i'd ask people what they thought the most overrated schools were in the nation.

BC is overrated
Georgetown is Underrated

Georgetown underrated?

How??

overrated- pretty much all of the ivies, BC, USC, Duke, sports schools basically…

underrated- LAC’s. I don’t feel like listing them all.

NYU is very underrated!

overrated - BC, USC, Duke
Underrated - Cornell, JHU, Berkeley, UCSD

I’ve always heard that NYU was overrated but who am I to say that so as far as that I don’t think any schools are overrated.

Underrated-LAC’s that aren’t Amherst/Williams/Swarthemore, Brown, Cornell, the bottom half of the top 100 schools…

Overrated- University of Texas- Austin, Texas A&M University- College Station, Rice University, Texas Christian University… I guess a few of universities in Texas. Also University of Kentucky- Lexington.

I’m not saying they are all highly overrated, all are good universities.

So I guess you’re saying Texas is overrated? Do you have something against Texas? Oh and nice slip-in of University of Kentucky… not.

I just wanted to express my opinion that i think BC is the most OVERRATED school in the country

Apparently Berkeley students are hairy

Even though my alma mater will be Boston College, I agree that it’s overrated, to an extent.

To an extent, Boston University is overrated. So is Harvard and MIT. Those are the overrated schools in my neck of the woods.

Oh wow, whats the problem? This is my opinion, and why would I have something against Texas? It’s not a state I would live in, but I understand why many choose to reside there. More so you have something against my own opinion, and that will be a issue of your own.

None of the schools you mentioned are overrated. In fact, they’re most likely underrated (perhaps a little overrated in Texas itself). Don’t accuse me of having something against Texas - you’re the one who thinks all Texas universities are overrated.

I myself go to Rice, why would I bash the state that I go to school in? Great logic, I’m sure.

The thing that bothers me is that you basically seemed to list off the most well-known Texas universities - UT is one of the best publics and Rice one of the best privates, neither are overrated in the big picture of things - maybe overrated in Texas, but that’s understandable. If you said these universities and had other universities from other states, I would not have asked why your Texas prejudice - but the fact that your list is so homogeneously “Texas universities are so overrated” causes me to inquire why.

This is not directed at you, but I just want to say that I myself have nothing against Texas and am sad to see so many people still harbor negative stereotypes about it. I’m originally from the Northeast, by the way.

overrated- Penn, Berkeley
Underrated- WashU (in terms of prestige, not actual ranking), Brown, Cornell

Reading my post I never accused you of having something against Texas, it’s would be more obvious that you wouldn’t in such a way attacking my comment/ opinion. I said you have something against my opinion, and that will be a issue of your own. Though no need for me to give a explanation.

Overrated–WashU, UVa, Brown, Tulane
Underrated-UW, UW, UMinn, Rutgers

How is BU overrated? BU is an amazing school and it’s not even in the top 50.

BU is a dangerous school. It’s slightly overrated. BC however is the most overrated school in the country.

WUSTL is the most overrated school in the nation… Tied with MIT at 6th place without PA scores? Gaming the system to the extreme. UPenn probably games the system too.

I also think Georgetown, Berkeley, Cornell, Brown are underrated…

UChicago and Duke are overrated in terms of the rankings. Hopkins is just immaculate obviously lol.
