*Most School Pride?*

Which school, do you think, recieves the most school pride (not in $$$) from its alumni? It seems, to me, that this might be an underrated indicator at value of an education. In hindsight, everything is 20/20...
so which school or schools do you guys think have the most alumni pride?

From my point of view:
I will start and say that UMich has a TON of alumni pride.
Second place goes to Texas A&M.
Third goes to Yale and Harvard (for tradition, not elitism).

Notre Dame!

Berkeley
USC
Penn

USC and Texas A&M

AMG, I would say that any great university will have a great deal of school pride...whether it is tiny like Amherst, CalTech and Rice or huge like Cal-Berkeley, Texas-Austin or Wisconsin-Madison. If I were to name three schools (in alphabetical order) that have the most pride, I would have to go with Michigan, Notre Dame and Yale.

I'd say NYU because its like a small city of 15,000+ and especially the CAS people who are sooooooooooooooooooooo defensive cuz they didnt get into stern.

There's a lot for Penn State, but that might just be because of the sheer number of alumni there are and partially due to the football team, but its there.

Notre Dame and Michigan have the most school pride...

If u want to talk about alumni support just look at USNWR for what percentage of the alumni donate.
Amherst = 63%, better than all Ivies

I have to agree with Texas A&M though, everyone I have known that went there has a ring and its like just as important to them as their wedding ring. (My grandfather has only taken his off for surgery)

A&M for sure. Arkansas with the pig-thing.

Williams: 63.01% of alumni gave last year.

I'd agree that USC belongs at/near the top of the list for school pride.

it's hard to tell with public universitites because football is usually such an integral part of it. I know here in Columbus, Ohio state is a huge one, and it almost doesn't matter if you actually went there or not- there's an incredible love for this school located in the heart of the city

how about for some other publics? here at ucla, there are many students who have school pride, but there are also many others who just go here for school and nothing much more. is it like this at some other publics where its really big and not everyone is into the whole campus spirit thing?

while I don't know from experience, at the big publics known for academics, I'm sure that's an issue, even at some not known for academics. ohio state has roughly 35,000 students, but being a big ten school, school pride is huge. I assume the same from the other schools in the big ten.

Dartmouth...third highest giving rate in the country and HUGE alumni turnouts for home football games, etc.

USC without a doubt. For both its sports (football national champs!) and just the school in general.

Princeton. And definitely Penn State.

This thread begins and ends with THE Ohio State University. To even consider that U of Mich has more school pride than Buckeye nation just implies that you seriously lack intelligence. OSU not only capitivates Columbus, but the ENTIRE state of Ohio. Same cannot be said of Michigan, as MSU has many fans. Oh BTW who won this year, thats right: THE Ohio State University. HANG ON SLOOPY, SLOOPY HANG ON

Usc.........................

Duke has a lot of pride
