Michigan comes to mind first. Then maybe USC? I don't see too many people in Cal getting too excited about their school.

on a side note: I went to visit Stanford yesterday for fun (I live in the east bay) and wow, holy **** Stanford shopping center is like a rich people gathering place (The only LV other than the one in SF?). The school itself is hugeeeeeeeee it felt so different from the "crammed" Berkeley.

I agree with UT Austin. Every home football game is like Mardi Gras and when they play Texas A&M, it's like new year's eve in 1999. Everyone wears burnt orange all the time. They LOVE their Longhorns. Hook 'Em.

Clearly you prior posters are not from the South, and it looks like everyone on this thread is just going to tout his or her school or regional schools -- so I guess I'll do the same. Clemson fans are a virtual cult, and Alabama, LSU and FSU are pretty "spirited" as well.

I would say USC, even when you exclude the school spirit associated with the sports teams. The alumni network does a great job supporting the school. Donations by alumni and supporters consistently rank in the top 3 among all schools in the country (with Harvard and Stanford usually right ahead or behind).

^ Dude, L.A. is now chock full of USC bandwagon fans. When L.A. gets pro football back and USC again has some lean years, watch how quickly those bandwagon fans hop off...

vc08 is a teen USC hater, how do you think of his opinion:) He said he is going to UCLA but constantly promoting CAL. It is especially skeptical since even most of CAL alumni think UCLA has more school pride than CAL.
