Most underrated school on CC?

^^^^
I disagree that NU and UPenn are overranked. Well, let me clarify. I don’t believe that the Wharton school is overranked. I believe Penn SAS and CAS are probably closer to a columbia. However, what school should replace Penn on the rankings? NU is just all around great. Its not like NU is ranked 3rd or something…I believe its 9th or 11th. That’s pritty fair if you ask me.

eastern elitist snobs will always underrate Notre Dame, Northwestern, Wash U, Vanderbilt. And non Catholics of course seriously underrate Notre Dame.

I agree HST. Wisconsin is very underrated, as is Indiana. Wisconsin does not get the same amount of respect as Michigan because it does not have elite Professional schools like Michigan. Michigan’s MBA program, Medical school and Law school are all considered among the top nationally. That really helps boost Michigan’s reputation.

Davidson gets my vote.

I’ve been on CC for several years now, and I seldom see it get any press. Even in topics specifically addressing LACs, it (or any other southern LAC) is very rarely mentioned.

Emory gets my vote within CC. I don’t think its underrated internationally (many people I know say “wow” when I mention the name, even here in Canada) but I don’t think it gets the right amount of mention in CC. People don’t know much about its amazing programs in business, psychology, religion, languages (especially French) … its 3-2 engineering program with GaTech is ranked 2nd in the nation. It has a great med school and one of the most underrated law schools ever.

Where is Emory again? ;-)

Florida State University is underrated, especially on CC.

University of Kansas

Free Shoes University? I don’t think they are underrated at all.

^See? It’s all about football to some.

I think Florida St is making great strides in reducing the number of convicted felons on campus. Congrats!

Thanks. They all transferred to the University of Felons in Gainesville, FL. ;)

Virginia Tech

Among Midwestern schools on CC…

Overrated:
Chicago (not the most ideal place for undergrads)
WUSTL (shady marketing schemes)

Underrated:
Michigan (undeserved poster child for anti-publics discussions)
Northwestern, Wisconsin (not discussed enough)

So funny how most of the responses are about highly rated programs and programs that get a lot of action here at CC.

Going a different way, I’d suggest St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

A poorly named public college in Maryland (no religious affiliation whatsoever). Very few posts about the school here at C.C. comparatively.

Gorgeous and friendly campus. It’s the honors college of Maryland so everyone in the class is an intellectual peer from the get-go. I like that.

URochester?

Overrated:
-Michigan (so easy to get into, it’s most probably just a safety school for the students in the top 20 schools)
-NYU (the location makes it a very popular choice)

Underrated:

 • Rice (it offers one of the best undergrad education)
 • Duke (not sure why people like to bash this elite school)

Michigan is not considered a top 20 school here on CC or at USNWR, oh confusedone.

^^^ I didnt even say that it was considered a top 20 school, oh rjerkofnovi.

Clever remark. About as clever as your analytical skills.
