Nothing seems to do it for me. I remember back in the day when I was a little 3rd grader and I would be so competitive and I always "tried my best" and even up to high school I was like that.

But now, NO. I'm taking my SATs in October and I have no motivation to study. I remember last year when I was studying I had so much motivation and when I heard how someone said they were bored doing practice tests, in my mind I was like "pshh...bored? good thing I won't be bored of this stuff". And what now? I'm totally bored that I can't even finish a whole section!

So, my point is. What motivates you guys? Because nothing seems to motivate me.

The desire for independence motivates me. Actually, pretty much everything. My life.

My family's also considered prestigious in a certain community so all of the members are expected to excel. I'm not going to be shame and fail to do so.

I have reputation, honor, goals, etc to keep.

I walk through the street and look at the beggars and think to myself:
"Wow! If I don't do good in school now, I'll end up on the street in dirty clothes watching people look down on my as they pass by." that motivates me enough,

Thus, I recommend obtaining a picture of a suffering homeless person and a picture of your dream college to put side by side on your desk. Even better, create a whole book filled with pictures of nice colleges and super nerdy billionaires. Create another book reserved for pictures of the homeless, suffering, famine, etc.
That should do it. ;)

you didn't have to say it so sarcastically^^ It's not the only motivation by the way, I hate living with my parents and want to move out, etc etc and all that....

Nooo that wasn't sarcasm. I'm serious. I have a picture of my dream school on my desktop.
I was just stating the extreme of it as a suggestion. I think about doing it, sometimes. I appreciated your motivational tip--it's kind of like mine, except it's the other end of the extreme.

I feared that I would lose all motivation once I decided where I wanted to go to college, as I'll be playing soccer there and admissions will be a breeze.

However, for some reason I feel more motivated this year than I have for a while in high school.
I think I finally want my grades to show my "potential," I don't want to disappoint my teachers, and I don't want to be remembered as, or always be, the ultimate procrastinator.

that happened once with me. My english teacher looked at me funny when i got a B instead of the A+ she had expected on the test. That was the only time I agreed with her on anything

i know how you feel. i feel like i've lost my motivation for studying. it's like, gah this is sooo boring. who wants to sit here and study. so i just go around organizing everything in sight. i organize my bookcase, closet, etc.
