<p>My son's housing contract shows that he can move into his dorm beginning 8/31/10 9AM. Does that mean that the 31st is his assigned move in date and he needs to move in on that date? If not and there is flexibility, are there advantages to moving in on the first day allowed (he has a single in Baits II) or doesn't it really matter? I noticed that classes don't start until 9/7....what happens during that week? We are OOS so gotta make travel arrangements, etc...</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure he can move in whenever from 31st and onwards, but the move in dates are staggered so that all freshmen aren’t trying to move in on the same date. The week before classes start is Welcome Week, where the school plans a number of activities for the incoming freshmen to attend if they want to.</p>
