Moved in Junior Year - Concerns?

Hello, I just recently moved this summer, and started junior year in September of this year. So far, I have done quite well with 5 A’s and 1 B in the first quarter. In my previous school, which was more competitive and nationally ranked in the top 100 public high schools, I got 4 A’s and 2 B’s on average. I have joined a few clubs, but I am just a regular member, since I am new here. Considering all of this, could I somehow have an advantage going into college admissions, or am I at a disadvantage? Do colleges sympathize with those who move in the middle of high school? Thank you for your time.

You don’t have an advantage or disadvantage per se, but adcoms will take into consideration the fact that you moved. There are also portions in applications where you could explain your lack of leadership positions due to your circumstances (just keep it short you know).

Other than that, do your best to get involved!
