Hi! Does moving and switching high schools the summer before your junior year hurt your chances of being able to get into a good college? In the new school I won't be able to be part of the staff (president, vice president, secretary, etc...) of any clubs because I have not been there for the other years. Will this hurt me? Anything else I should know?

What about getting to know people?

A friend of mine transfered to my high school right before Junior year and turned out fine.

Just try and get involved in similar activities and clubs for “consistency.” Most colleges are aware that officer positions require multiple years of participation to be in, so they shouldn’t look down on you for that. It’s not your fault at all.

Also, a lot of applications have a section where you can state anything you want. I advise you explaining your position there.

Getting to know people shouldn’t be a huge issue. I go to a very large high school (around 2700 students), and you’re constantly meeting new people. I still meet people in my graduating class that I have no clue went to my school on a weekly basis!

At a smaller school, however, you will be able to meet more people.

Either way, you should be fine Good luck with everything!
