movies you LiKe

I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 4 times in a 2 days (less than 48 hours) period.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I would recommend to everyone the first draft of the script (available on beingcharliekaufman.com - <a href="http://www.beingcharliekaufman.com/spotless.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.beingcharliekaufman.com/spotless.pdf</a>). When I first heard about the movie, I was so excited about it that I couldn't wait til it came out so I read the script and it brought me to tears. (It only takes about an hour to read.) When I saw the movie though, I was disappointed because the ending wasn't quite the same. THE SCRIPT IS AMAZING!! Definitely read it, whether you've seen the movie or not.

Garden State - AMAZING movie. The soundtrack is just as good. I went to a movie theater 40 minutes away just to see this movie and it was definitely worth it. It's so quirky yet all of its oddities are so touching and make you go "awww". :)

Titanic - I'm sorry, but I still love this movie even though I get made of b/c of that all the time.

I was just thinking about how much I like se7en. Other amazing movies that I don't think anyone's mentioned: memento, waking life, spellbound (VERY appropriate for the CC set), napoleon dynamite, trainspotting, and zoolander!

And I second the nominations for fight club, american beauty, and requiem.

Okay, I was just kidding about bring it on, mean girls, and serendipity (although I thought Mean Girls was pretty decent)

Some movies that I actually liked that haven't been mentioned:
Lost in translation
Schindler's list
The breakfast club
Catch me if you can
The green mile
Harold and Kumar go to White Castle

amelie- the french are amazing
hero- the chinese are amazing

athlonmj you have good taste.
i loved Schindler's list, catch me if you can, the green mile.
also a beautiful mind and monty python and the holy grail

Tenacious J, I hear you on the watching About a Boy four times in a week thing. I rediscovered it on the DVD shelf at my house last weekend, and I think I've surpassed watching it four times this past week. I'm beginning to get to the point where I've subconsciously memorized a bunch of the lines in it. And you're right, the soundtrack is really good. Badly Drawn Boy did a very nice job with it.

And your username makes me think of another movie to recommend to the original poster.. School of Rock. It's got a nice classic rock soundtrack and the kid actors in the movie are hilarious. I wouldn't say that it's close to the top of my favorite movies list, but it's entertaining.

L.A. Confidential
Godfather I
The Fugitive

I was hoping someone would get my screen name. Actually I am not too high on School of Rock. I heard a good summary of Jack Black recently: "Bill Murray without the acting ability."
I forgot to mention Pulp Fiction which I believe to be one of the best movies of the decade. Amelie is a little confusing, but very good as well. Frankly, I think that even stoners think that Harold and Kumar was pretty stupid.

In America, A Beautiful Life, Legally Blonde, Saved

Good Will Hunting
Dead Poet's Society

I think with all these Good Will Hunting lovers, we ought to have a movie party.

Fight Club
Scarface
Indiana Jones Series
Old School
Lord of the Rings
The Hudsuckers Proxy
Harold and Kumar goes to White Castle
Team America: World Police

Let's go old school style:

Battleship Potemkin
Frankentstein (1931)
King Kong (1933)
Night of the Living Dead
Nosferatu

"harold and kumar go to white castle" is byfar the best movie ever

The Breakfast Club!!!

O man I can't believe I forgot Scarface! And the Godfather also...Gotta love the gangster movies.

I heart Huckabees

"will you spy?"
"yes"
"on me?"
"yes"
"will you spy on me in the bathroom?"
"yes"

25th hour. It's one of the few movies with images that have stayed in my mind for over a year...plus the instrumental soundtrack is excellent

I second TITANIC

It was such a nice movie. I love the theme and the music. Maybe people don't like it because of DiCaprio, but the whole movie was really touching and I loved it and I'm a guy too.

Titanic was a great movie. I didn't tell anybody though.

Hooray for Odysseus.
Someone else loves The Fugitive.
