Moving into dorms

I'm afraid that I will not have enough space for all my clothes and that the two peices of furniture I'm buying will take up too much space.

How likely is it that I will not have room for all my clothes? In my room right now I have a dresser full of clothes and a closet full of clothes.

And I plan on buying a locking chest for my valuables and some stacking crates/drawers for other stuff like cleaning supplies and other things.

I've seen the rooms and I know they're small. Will I have room for this stuff?

NOTE: I plan on living in an on campus dorm, anacapa was my first choice.

What is the furniture? Also, you have to take into account you’ll be living with another person and you don’t want to compromise her/his space as well.

The furniture is one shelving/drawer unit, like this maybe: [Dormbuys.com » Furniture » Other Accessories » Steel Frame Accessory Chest](Dormbuys.com)

and a box to lock my valuables, like this: [Dormbuys.com » Space Savers » Trunks » Collegiate - 30" Footlocker 1 Handle](Dormbuys.com)

I am fully conscious of the fact that I will be living with someone else, which is why I am worried that I will take up too much room. I don’t want to take up their space at all. If I bring these two pieces of furniture will it be too much?

If you’re not living in Santa Catalina or Manzanita, the truth is that your room is going to be pretty tiny. I’m not sure of the exact dimensions, but you can see the UCSB suggested layout here:

http://www.housing.ucsb.edu/hchoices/hchoices-images/fp-anacapa.gif

You could probably get away with both items, though I guess you can bring one your first quarter and depending on the layout you and your roommate decide on you can adjust after that.

I think you can get away with it… You an put the lockbox under the bed.
