<p>Is this as hectic as it sounds?</p>
<p>yea its pretty hectic for move in. a lot of it depends on where you live. North Campus for instance has very little parking areas so move in can be tricky.</p>
<p>Which dorm are you moving into?</p>
<p>If you move in early morning then you will be fine. I worked in housing for check in and thats the slowest time. Most people move in during the afternoon.</p>
<p>Also, the whole thing where they assign you a time to move in is BS, it doesn't matter when you move in, as long as its after August 15</p>
<p>It's also much cooler early in the morning for what it's worth ...helps save mom and dad's tired legs and backs ...LOL</p>
<p>My daughter is moving into Ehringhaus South. She's supposed to be moving in at 1:30 on that Friday. This week has been brutal around here with the heat and humidity, so I can only imagine how it will be then :).</p>
<p>they mention nothing about those moving in on the 15th for ctops. what am i supposed to do...just show up? :-P</p>
<p>Yes, the dorm will have a list of those attending CTOPs. If you have any concerns you can email the Director of Housing to verify. They were very nice and accommodating to us who, like you, had a long travel distance and were arriving early.</p>

<p>you don't have to move into the day they assign for you. There also is no list of when people are moving in. The people at the dorms have no idea when people are moving in. Trust me, I've worked check in before. If you want to move in earlier in the day than what you were "assigned" then go ahead and do it. If you want to move in on August 16 instead of August 17, then go ahead.</p>
<p>If you are supposed to move in on August 15th for CTOPS, sport team, rotc, band, freshman camp, then don't worry, just go and move in on that day. Each dorm will be set up to start checking people in that day.</p>
