I just want to comment on how smoothly everything went on move in day this past weekend. My daughter is staying at Grandville Towers and everything went flawlessly. I can say it was the same on campus. My daughter's friend is going to Carolina and so is his twin. One is staying at Granville Towers and one is staying on the campus of Carolina. His mother said everything went smoothly there on campus too. When we went with my daughter to the book store where it was very crowded, but we did not have to wait very long and everyone was very helpful. They had everything going like clockwork. I was pretty amazed at how everything went this weekend.

I will agree with alcook that the process was remarkably painless. After reading the ominous wording on the parking pass, I had visions of long lines of cars and packed parking lots. But at Morrison, we got a space right away and had everything in D's room in under an hour. The long lines we feared at the bank ond the One Card office did not appear. The Dinner at RamsHead was a great idea and very tasty. Even the harried salespeople at BBB were calm and helpful. As an added bonus, people were a bit jealous of D for getting assigned a Morrison super suite as a freshman. The room is small and her bed sways a bit. But she is so excited she doesn't care. Now if she would just respond to my last email.....

I have to agree! We were literally shocked that everything went so easily. My daughter is a freshman in Kenan and is thrilled with her room, roommate and her community. What a beautiful dorm! Check-in could not have been any easier. Her books were ready at the bookstore and she even was able to change her schedule on Sat. very easily to the courses she wanted. We were amazed.

Everything went smoothly here as well. We got our daughter moved in Friday (Ehaus South). There was one outlet in her room that needed repairing. She went online and the maintenance man was there in less than 20 minutes and got everything squared away. We went and picked up a few groceries and got those in. We left dd a handtruck for getting her books back to her dorm since Saturday was the pick up day for that. She said that was invaluable! I've been very pleased with how organized everything has been. Everyone was so helpful and nice.

I just miss her like crazy!!

My son moved in last week as he is off campus. The only snafu was that over the weekend he didn't realize that they changed some of the two way streets to one way during move in time. He turned and went the wrong way (every day before it had been 2 way) and had people chasing him and yelling "stop!". No accident, just made a quick turn on to a side street!
