The letter was informing me that I have been put on the waitlist for MPulse Musical Theatre Workshop, and that I will be contacted if an opening becomes available.

I also had to let them know whether or not I would like to remain in the waitlist.

*on the waitlist.

Thanks for the info! I was put on the waitlist also for the TDA. Any idea on what our chances are of getting off the waitlist?

Well the letter says its a short waitlist so hopefully we will have a good chance if some people give up their spots. Hopefully we will find out sometime this week. Good luck! I hope you get a spot in the program!

Thanks! Good luck to you too! :)

My S was accepted to MPulse MT Workshop by email and was asked to reply right away with his acceptance. We did not know how much Financial Aid he would receive until April 5th or so. We started a community fundraising project for him in March and accepted on the basis of that being successful! He is so excited to go and learn! It has been interesting to hear about the programs his friends are going to and what they are like. So many different opportunities to learn about. examples: OCU, BTP, Interlochen and others we have yet to explore… What do you think of these summer programs?

If you have come up with a fantastic fundraising idea, please share it with us! We are in the same boat w/D who needs to come up with some funds to attend this summer, even w/receiving some aid. Tossing around a few ideas in my head right now, but she won’t be home until the end of May to help with anything. As for other summer programs, PM me if you’d like any info on ones she’s done in past summers w/OCU, BAA, or The Arts Edge (currently called The Arts Bridge). All were very positive experiences! She’s never attended Interlochen’s summer programs, but is a student at their academy during the school year, and we’ve heard great things about their summer programs from others who have attended.

The fundraiser is a vocal and piano showcase recital with family, friends and our church. It’s free with donations accepted. He wrote a letter invitation and sent it out snail mail, facebook and handed them out ot all choirs and theatre he’s been a part of. Several people that couldn’t make it to the recital just sent checks. It will help alot when we pay the bill. I think the letter was well written.

Great idea! We did a fundraiser recital a couple years ago and found that many people were genuinely interested in helping and as you mentioned, those who were unable to attend sent very generous checks anyway. So as a thank you, we sent them dvds of the performance. We can’t do another recital, as D is away at school until the end of May…I’m attempting to do another type of fundraiser with hopes we can still raise some money for this in time! Afraid to buy a plane ticket just yet, as that’s another $1000…

Arggggg!!! This wait is so frustrating! I am so anxious to find out whether I have gotten off the waitlist yet, and it’s driving me insane! I read on last years thread that some people were getting of the waitlist as late as 5/18! That means I have at least another 2 week wait! And my dad is complaining about it bc he needs to make airplane reservations for our family vacation and can’t schedule it till i find out for sure. this is so frustrating!

Call them!

Oh my gosh! I just passed out! I just received an email saying I was taken of the wait list and I’ve been excepted into the mpulse tad program! And I’m a sophomore! I feel so dizzy!

*tda. Sorry!

I will be applying to Mpulse for the 2013 Musical Theatre Workshop, if anyone can give me past experiences or any information about their experience at the program it would be much appreciated!

Reeb…my son went to impulse last summer! It was a great workshop especially for preparing to audition. It was like auditioning everyday with new songs assigned often. He also made use of his piano skills and helped others learn their newly assigned songs. Great classes and workshops from working umich alumni! Very intense.

My daughter is deciding to go back to stagedoor or try to go to mpulse
She went to stagedoor last summer and really enjoyed it. Were the programs drastically different? Please let me know what you thought was best since you have done both
thanks!

Hi there – has anyone applied for 2014? We sent everything in on time but our vocal instructor has not yet received an email for a letter of rec? I keep thinking something is wrong. I sent 2 emails but have not received a reply and didn’t want to push it too much. Has anyone on here submitted a 2014 Mpulse app? Has your vocal teacher received an email? How long did it take? We submitted our app the final day – hoping they still consider her application “final” without the rec. info appreciated.

lauramomatty, we haven’t heard anything either. I have a daughter who’s a sophomore - hoping to get in. If not, we’ll do another summer with BDF
