Hello guys! Which one of these will help me better in getting IB jobs after graduation:

MSE in Computer Science

or

BAS in Computer Science and BA in Economics (Dual Degree)

both options would require an extra year (for a total of 5 years).

Thanks!

anybody? bumpppppppp…

Option 2.

An MSE in Comp Sci for I-Banking is just overkill, and somewhat undesirable.

Thanks for your opinion! Anyone else?

Will it be worth the extra year if I do option 2? Or should I just do a 4-year comp sci (my major is comp sci) with minor in ECON?

you shouldn’t be thinking about it this way. You’re either a freshman or sophomore I’m guessing, so I would play it this way:

1) Take your general courses and declare yourself for now as a dual-degree econ and comp sci major (econ is more finance-appealing)
2) Try to get internships
3) If you get an internship and a FT offer, than finish in four years with a minor in econ
4) If you either don’t get a good internship or a FT offer, than take the extra year and claim it was your “original plan” and leverage your greater work experience to do better in recruiting the next year
