MSU OMSP 2017

Yea, hopefully they will deliver on time

omsp is out!

Got the interview!

I did as well! Anyone know how many people were chosen for an interview?

If anyone is in that program currently, could you please give us an idea of the format and what they will ask in the interview. I think we would all really appreciate it. Thank you!

For those of you who got interviews can you give me your stats. I got the reject! Discouraged, but would like to plan for what they are looking for in another few years. I really want to go to MSUCOM. My doctor’s are all MSU DOs.

Mine: ACT 31 GPA: 3.98 UW, 4.28 WT, Founder and President of pre-med club at my school, shadowed two doctors, Perry Initiative on Orthopedic Surgery, Kettering pre-med doctor for a day summer camp, over 100 volunteer hours. 4 years varsity softball. 3 other clubs.

Good luck to you on your interviews!

i have 34 act and 3.99 gpa

@dppeag Are you in-state or out-of-state?

I don’t think any out of state ppl would apply because the out of state tuition for msu com is insane (over 80k a year and double other med schools)

I am in state.
Can anyone else accepted give me their stats, wondering if it was my ACT score that killed me or if OSTEOChamps is the key? My sister is a 9th grader and is interested in applying in a few years. If she knows what they are looking for she will have a better shot. I heard Wayne State has a similar program also.

i dont think its osteochamps is the key since i didnt do it but i think act and gpa has a huge weightage on it

@dppeag Yea, I am not excatly sure why. Your GPA is quite high and though your ACT isn’t super high, it’s still quite in the range needed (mine was a 32 and I got an interview). Osteochamps isn’t the key as i didn’t take it either. And since you had a lot of stuff outside of school (sports, shadowing, etc), it probably came down to your essay. Most people don’t realize it, but the essay is a huge part of these programs and a weak one could bring you down.

OMSP IS OUT

Rejected it’s OK go blue!!!

Got in! How bout you @bunny101 ?

@punnettsquare what were your stats and how did your interview go? can you please ask them how many people applied, interviewed, and accepted?

I did

@bunny101 what were your stats and hospital volunteering/extracurricular and how was your interview? i just sent an email asking them why i didnt get in.

3.87 UW and 34 act… i have a lot of volunteering and leadership roles within them, shadowed ped/internal medicine… volunteer in the er and stuff! i think my leadership in volunteering helped the most

aw im sorry dude ):
