MSU Transfer Essay Personal Statement

Hello,

I'm applying to transfer to MSU, but I'm not sure on what prompt would be more beneficial for me to use. Here are the options:

Michigan State University recognizes that an assortment of interests, viewpoints, and life experiences are important in student learning and enhance the university community. Describe an experience, passion, or characteristic that illustrates what you would contribute to the MSU community and how this will add to the overall richness of campus life.

Describe a significant experience from the past two years which required you to interact with someone outside of your own social or cultural group (ethnic, religious, geographic, socio-economic, etc.). How did this impact you? What did you learn and what surprised you?

I currently attend Clark University, which focuses a lot on diversity and the kind of issues related to number two. I feel like the second prompt might be easier to write about, but I already transferred once before. This is why I feel like I need to sort of "prove myself" (also due to my gpa being a 2.9) to MSU and come up with a really strong essay. My conflict, however, is that I feel like people will definitively use #1 more, so my chances might be lowered.

I forgot to add: Could anyone please suggest me which prompt would be more likely to get me into MSU? I really want to go there.
