Hi, I’m stuck between these 2 schools. Are there any current students that go to either school that can offer advice? I got into the business school at MSU and I can’t take business courses until sophomore year at Loyola. Both are top 40 business schools. I live in Connecticut and I’m worried about distance from home. I’ve visited both schools and can’t decide because both are amazing. I’m a student that needs great support/tutoring services and both have great reputations. I’m literally 50:50 on my decision and any advice or opinions from past students or students looking to go to either school would be great!
Presume you have been awarded scholarships. Do you have to take loans, and if so, how much at each of the University? To keep your scholarships, what is the GPA stipulation at each?
At MSU, although you may have been admitted to Business, you will be formally admitted to the program only after sophomore year. You will have to pass a business assessment test, and your grades in pre-business classes, as well as your overall GPA will be considered before you are admitted to UG program in business. For 2013, we were informed that one needed a college GPA of 3.3 to be admitted into their business program.
If you need academic support, a smaller school with Jesuit tradition might be a better fit. MSU is huge. Do you have train service between your home town and Baltimore?
Costs will be a major consideration, unless you can afford both.
