MSW Chance me, please.

My cumulative GPA for my last 60 units (including courses outside of my major, my major GPA alone is slightly higher) is 3.75. I am currently a senior at Humboldt State and I am a Psychology major. I plan on applying this semester for admission to several MSW (Master's of Social Work) programs and eventually becoming a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

I worked for 6 months at a psychiatric hospital (as a dietary aide) and I am a member of psychology club where I have volunteered at many events related to social work/psychology.

These are the schools I plan on applying to:

Humboldt State
USC
CSULB
CSUN
SFSU

USC is my first choice, but with the hefty price tag I may end up going to CSUN. (CSUN has more options for concentrations)

Chances???

P.S. If you have been accepted to an MSW program please indicate where and what your stats are, it is much appreciated. :) Thanks!!!

I am a business management major. I am working on my USC MSW application. My career has nothing to do with social services. So I volunteer my time at a violence center for youth, in LA. I have applied to numerous positions in social services, but I get rejected. However, I have 4 years healthcare work experience, dealing with older adults and low-income youth.
My gpa is 3.4 and i am determined to get into USC. My personal statement is looking great and as soon as I get into USC i will throw a party and invite all of you!!!

Dayaway–I think your chances are very good with that GPA and your interest and background. Good luck!

How could the average GPA at USC be a measly 3.2 if the minimum GPA is 3.0? Is it because they weigh the personal statement or the work experience more heavily?

If so, all I can say is that you might have a chance at USC…
