MT major with a VP minor or major?

<p>Definitely…some traditional musicals also require a belt voice for certain roles and so the more versatile the skill set, the better prepared one is for auditions. But Bel Canto technique is important as a background for sure. I don’t think MT training should focus solely on legit and solely on traditional rep, nor solely on belting or contemporary rep. You need to be able to do both.</p>

<p>I would appreciate a list of NYC or Wash DC area teachers who can teach a safe belt for a legit oriented soprano who would love to be Ariel someday. Contact me privately? She’s 16 and has an awesome coloratura teacher who I don’t think, knows quite as much about belting as she does opera. It would be not for every week but for a few sessions, I think, to make sure all is well. Thanks.</p>
