@sydsim it’s called The Unified

I had to search for “the unified on Facebook” in order to find it. I haven’t joined. I think it’s meant for the students to have a place to share and get questions answered.

There are parents on there as well but they just keep quiet and lurk…lol

…and a student posted the other day questioning why parents were allowed to join since the purpose of The Unified FB group is to give students a place to vent, share, etc., about the college audition process. Some students said they didn’t mind parents in the group as long as they didn’t post or try to dominate, but others (including my S) were adamantly against them belonging in the first place; few parents have exited the group.

Thanks a bunch.

Does anyone have any information on University of Miami and their decision making time frame/method?

Regarding the kids not liking parents of the Unified FB page, my thinking is: too bad. We are paying for the auditions, headshots, travel and tuition, so we get to be on that page.

If they didn’t want parents in the group, they should not have been so quick to add them in!

Actually, I think it was another parent who added me!

Final auditions were at Rider on 2/22. I believe the faculty is meeting today or tomorrow to make the final decisions. Status should be updated on myrider shortly. Good luck to everyone waiting!

Although my S did not apply to Rider (against my persuasions…because that’s different!)…I am now excited to hear about these upcoming rounds of acceptances!!! BAL everyone!

There are decisions on the Rider portal. My S got his.

I just checked, no change on my D, still under review…

My daughter got her notice from her Rider portal. Her letter came in the mail about 10 days later.

When did your sons & daughters audition at Rider? D did the 1/20 audition and she’s still under review.

If one more school sends us generic “stuff” my D & I are both gonna explode! Today was a flyer for housing at Wright State & over the weekend both Pace & Temple sent stuff about their “experience our college” days! It just makes this waiting even harder!!

Montclair sent son a big envelope with a folder inside that states “Your Future Starts Now”, he was artistically rejected last week. They wanted to let him know he could still attend as an “Undeclared Major”, uh, don’t think so…

@entertainersmom Pace keeps calling our D’s cell phone even though they rejected her for BFA MT. A bit annoying.

@cheeseheadmike - Pace keeps calling my D too, who has been academically accepted but no decision on MT yet. When and how did you find out about MT?

At least the e-mail usually has an opt out link to stop receiving the messages. Sorry to your D! You would hope they would back off a bit if there had been an artistic rejection. One kind letter in a little envelope to say you are still welcome to attend in another program would suffice.
