Hi,

I’m thinking of apply to Muhlenberg, and was wondering what life was like there for MT students? Are they segregated from the rest of the school? Do kids often leave on the weekends? And what are the number of main stage productions typically performed? Thanks

Here is a link to Muhlenberg’s Mainstage Season:

[Muhlenberg College Department of Theatre and Dance | Academic Programs](http://www.muhlenberg.edu/depts/theatre/onstageseasonfall09.htm)

There you can see the types of numbers of productions offered on the mainstage (which doesn’t include ALL theater productions on campus).

I doubt the theater students (which by the way, are not MT students as there is no formal MT program per se) are segregated as Muhlenberg is a liberal arts school and has no conservatory within it. I’m sure the theater students bond but they are mixed in with others in MANY of their classes, as it is a BA program.

My son is a very happy freshman at Muhlenberg and is a theater major with interest in musical theater. I think because Muhlenberg is a small campus and the theater building is central to the campus the theater students are very well integrated both physically and programatically. My son is in the upcoming musical, “An American Tragedy” and they are rehearsing 6 nights a week from 7-11PM so there is very little time for students to leave campus or take off for the weekend. He is quite pleased with his decision to go to Muhlenberg and I would be happy to answer any questions also for those thinking about the school.

42ndstreetmom…my D just auditioned at Muhlenberg yesterday…she had a very positive experience! She and I will be attending “An American Tragedy” in March. Let me know who your son is and we’ll keep an eye out! I know D has spoken to a few MT/Theater kids and everyone so far is happy at the 'Berg. We still have mixed feelings about the program so we’re hoping to learn more on our next visit. I am mostly concerned with the high price tag! She would definitely need to get both merit and talent scholarships in order for us to even consider it.
