I saw this a long time ago on the Princeton board but never saw it here. Thought some of you would like to see it.

i found those videos so annoying, nice visuals though i guess. sorry, but i dont need chad michael murray telling me how tough it is to get into harvard

Who in the world spends Friday and Saturday nights studying? The students never said that, but the narrator says it twice just in the free preview. There is middle ground between the raging kegger and the library, people. Going out to dinner and to see a show with your friends is not called "studying" just because you're sober when you do it.

Wow. Fridays and Saturdays studying? Hmmm. For me (and for the majority of my friends) the weekend starts on Thursday and ends on Sunday night when you know you cna't delay doing your homework any longer. =) That was last semester, at least. This semester is shaping up to be a liiiiiiiittle different . . .

That Willy guy was kind of a boob. I imagine the wine glass wasn't his idea.

lol this vid is sooooooo stereotyped

That site totally just turned me off to Tufts. Jerks.

Lmao this has got to be the funniest thing I've ever seen.

My favorite bit has to be when they say "Its clear that talent, ambition and GENIUS are key" really emphasising the genius. And when they said the genius they just cut off to some random guy on the computer - as if being on a computer and not looking too sporty makes him a nobel laureate lmao

I really wonder what the point of that video was. I mean - like the target audience of that website would ever just see that video and go like 'Well that does it - I'm giving up my partying ways and applying because I never knew Harvard was such an "ACADEMIC" school!'

If they didn't show video footage I would have honestly thought they had never gone there - I mean they just like put together every (mostly untrue) stereotype of Harvard - Geeky students, non-stop studying, the huge importance of finals club. If that website wasnt so professional I would honestly think it was satire.

Good laugh tho'

Yeah, they're pretty bad. I only like the videos for the video footage itself.

Ditto. (ten ch)

"90% of applicants get rejected. ALL of which are top students."

Do I smell the lingering stench of BS? According to the admissions person who spoke to us at Harvard, 80% of all applicants can do the work. There are always going to be idiots who don't know what they're getting themselves into, and I'm sorry to say it, but the number of them is probably directly proportional to the number of people who watch that crap. Disgusting.

So you're saying that about 20% who apply really don't have any shot in hell of getting in?

Exactly. It's pretty sad, when you think about it.

Ha, I'm sure these videos will reveal some mainstream views on these colleges as well as provide some footage of many facets of the schools that are deemed important from the mainstream perspective. I would purchase them just for that.

i can name at least 3 people at my school with like 3.0s, 1800s, standard classes with a few honors sprinkled in who applied ea, im sure even more applied regular. people seem to think that there's some chance an admission officer accidentally admit them or else they're completely delusional. i really do feel bad for people like this

I didn't know Connan O'Brien went to Harvard. AT least I got that out of the video.

wasnt he editor of the lampoon?

yeah he was... and he gave an incredible commencement speech a few years ago:

but wow... that video was pretty full of ****, not gonna lie.

haha that speech is hilarious

all the videos are completely superficlal and just perpetuate all the stereotypes. they called dartmouth super preppy and brown super chill or whatever

whoa whoa. Hahaha I was just watching the penn video, and the same guy is on the Dartmouth video, doing the same thing. This thing is a complete crock.
