<p>i was just using the word black to mean "african american" in this case. and that's right, sidney was the first, my mistake.</p>
<p>but still, halle barry is said to be the first "african american" actress to win the Best Actress award, but she's half AA and half white. so should it not matter how much AA an actor has? what if she was only 1/4 AA/black? anyway, i thought it was interesting to watch it being discussed in a class, in which every race was commenting, and the African americans in the class were also divided in their opinions about it. </p>
<p>the funny thing is the student kept looking at me expecting to comment since i looked mixed. techinically i'm mixed color-wise, but i'm 100% puerto rican. anyway i thought it was funny that they looked at me everytime someone commented on how black or white "mixed" people look.</p>
