Is it possible to have multiple early decision applications?

i actually want to know about this too :)

No. You can only apply early decision to one school. However, you can apply to multiple early action schools, unless one is SCEA, meaning you can only apply to one early action school.

Here:http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=353374

Not according to the common definition of ED, which is a binding commitment to attend if admitted. You could apply early acceptance (no commitment to attend) in addition to your one ED app. If you are accepted ED, you would have to withdraw all your other applications and/or turn down any other acceptances.

Read the ED application carefully. It is a contract and will clearly state your obligations.

but do they actually have a system for checking to see if you applied ED to multiple schools?

Some schools do share lists of ED applicants. And if you are accepted to both, they WILL find out when you mysteriously can't attend one.

And what happens if they find out?

standrews, which schools do offer early acceptance?

Well for one, if you get accepted to both then one would definitely find out, because you'd have to reject them.

If that happened, all schools you applied ED to would rescind your acceptance, and would likely do what they could to block you from gaining admission into any other selective school.

In addition, (though you probably don't care, if you're selfish enough to do this in the first place), your counselor has to sign off saying that you're only applying ED to one school. If you manage to convince him/her to do otherwise, they would almost certainly lose their job (though that is pretty much their own fault for doing it), and more importantly, the school(s) would become extremely angry with your school in general, and would be reluctant to admit future students.

So if you apply Early Decision and are accepted into that school. (And you’ve applied to other Colleges and are still waiting) you just reject them as soon as they come despite an acceptance or rejection right?

No, I believe you have to withdraw your applications to those schools

The whole idea of Early Decision is you are 100% certain set in stone positive you want to go to that school, with finances being the only way out. You cant be 100% positive you want to go to more than one school.

The guidance counselor at your high school generally has to sign your early decision application…and the guidance counselor is not going to violate the rules of ED.

If you want to apply to multiple schools early, apply to as many early action and rolling acceptance schools as you want to, and just skip applying ED. That way you will have your early decisions without violating the ED rules.

Is it possible to game the system ???
