Multiple waitlists

I have searched for an answer to this question but I could'nt find out. I have been waitlisted at FIVE of my top choice schools. Is it possible to stay on more than one waitlist at a time? Or does accepting a waitlist position create a binding contract that if you are accepted you MUST go there. All the letters have been very vague and falsely apologetic. I hate waitlists.

Thank you!

no, you can be on as many waitlists as you want, and if you do in fact get accepted to a school off of that waitlist, you are not required to accept said admission.

i hate waitlists too... which schools did u get it at?

Waitlist is the evil cousin of rejection...

misery loves company i too have five waitlists isnt it lovely...

Ok, good.

I'm on the waitlists for Harvard, Dartmouth, Amherst, Williams, Swarthmore and something else too I think. But these are the ones that matter. I would kill to go to Harvard haha. Unfortunately they already took SEVEN people from my school! If I had applied ED I probably would have gotten in. I am kicking myself SO much.
