Music Composition + Vocal Music Supplement after applications?

I’m sure there’s a discussion out there about this, but I have not been able to find it so please feel free to move this to the appropriate spot! DS is a HS Senior and has applied to schools hoping to double major/dual degree in Music Composition and Physics. He has already submitted his portfolio and music scores, but (I believe) his real strength is in his vocal performance. He was just named 1st Chair Tenor at our All State Choir competition. My question is - should he reach out to those schools he is most interested in and see if he can now submit a vocal music supplement?

He also has strong academics and test scores (36 ACT, 4.35 weighted GPA, 14 AP classes, top 2% of his class), but in doing my own research, I’m afraid that may not help him with acceptances since he applied to the Music Schools as his first choice at most colleges, and they seem to offer acceptances and scholarships based more on your portfolio. He is our oldest and handled all of his applications himself, but now I wish we had sought out outside help in his application process.

For music/physics, he has applied to USC, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, UCLA, Princeton, Duke, UNC Chapel Hill and Florida State. Would it pay to reach out to any of these schools to submit a vocal music supplement at this point?

I am going to PM you.

For this question, there is no harm in calling the schools.

He can certainly add the fact that he won First Chair at All State with schools- I believe he may be able to do that on the portal or possibly email.

But just call the schools.

For composition he does not really need a music school and if he attends any of the ones listed, he can keep that in mind and switch to a BS in Physics. Princeton doesn’t have a BM so that won’t be an issue there.

How is he planning on doing a BM and physics? Is he doing a double degree? That’s a tough combo. I think he might be better off doing a BS in physics with a composition teacher and extracurricular performance, plus some elective music classes.
