I want to do medicine, but am really passionate about music. Is music with the pre req’s enough to pass the MCAT and do good in medical school? I’m not sure if majoring in music wouldn’t teach me basics in med that I’d need. Is that true?If so, is it better to do a BM in performance, BA in performance, or what? I want to do something in all branches, not JUST jazz or classical. Also, maybe a program with composition and conducting also included in performance? Does anyone know of any of these programs in any schools?

The gist–it can be done, but it will be difficult. You won’t be able to do a BM. Aside from the fact that most BM degrees are offered at conservatories where there are no science classes, a BM requires that 2/3 to 3/4 of your classes are music classes. There’s no space in your schedule to take pre-med classes.
Because of the significant time requirements built in to BA performance degrees, I suspect you will likely have issues getting your pre-med ECs done at the same time as your music degree. You will probably need to apply for med school after you graduate to give you time to prep for the MCAT and strengthen your ECs.
Also as non-science major, you cannot afford any stumbles w/r/t your science courses. You will need to earn As in every science/math class you take simply because you will have so few other BCPM classes to dilute any B or C grades. Remember your sGPA (only BCPM classes) is equally important if not more important than your cumulative GPA.
I think you need to investigate what’s involved in a music major and structure of music programs more carefully before you start making final decisions.
