Music for non-majors...

So I am really interested in continuing playing trumpet in college. Right now i am the lead trumpet player for my schools Wind Ensamble and Jazz Band. I didnt apply for a joint degree thing and i dont think i want to be a music major anyways, but i was wondering if there are accessable oppurtunities to be in performing groups if you are a non-major. I really love playing in big bands (jazz) but ochestra's, combos, and wind ensambles are all fun. Anyone got any inside info?

bump.......

There is a life sciences orchestra--although as I understand it, it, too, is competitive. A bunch of scientists realized they all played and missed it, and voila, an orchestra was born. Students, faculty, researchers, clinicians....they're all in there.

I bring it up because there may be other things like that. Also, the RC has its own music and art curriculum, doesn't it?
