Is it possible to double major in music and Sanskrit (both BA) and complete medical school requirements while in four years?
Thanks!

Possibly. Take a look at the graduation requirements and course catalogues at the places that offer both of those majors, and see whether you could make it all fit.
Add up the following:
A = requirements for the music major
B = requirements for the Sanskrit major that do not overlap with A
C = pre-med courses that do not overlap with A or B
D = general education courses that do not overlap with A, B, or C
Then see if that is a realistic number of courses or credits within the number you will take to complete your bachelor’s degree.
Have you read the Double Degree Dilemma essay posted closer to the top of this forum? It might be helpful. A double degree might be a consideration but the essay describes other options. You can major in anything and still go to med school of course. There are post- bacc programs to cover prerequisites. ( Goucher is one example.). You might also consider language institutes for Sanskrit versus an academic degree. Check out major requirements and gen eds as suggested above if you want to try to do it all in 4 years.
Oh ok thanks! @compmom @ucbalumnus @happymomof1 . About how many credits are recommended to be taken during one semester?
Usually a degree is 120 credits, so 30 per year, 15 per semester. Some schools give 3 credits per class which means 5 classes per semester, and some give 4 credits per class, which means 4 classes per semester.
I replied on your other thread.
I think it will be challenging to schedule all of your music performance requirements along with the science labs in particular.
As noted by @compmom the usual semester tally is 15 credits…and believe me when I say…yours will be filled with music performance course requirements…many of which are 1-2 credit courses that meet 4-5 times a week (ensembles, private lessons).
And remember too…some colleges WILL change you more if you take more than a certain number of credits.
I would like to turn the question back to you. Why do you NEED a major…or minor in Sanskrit. At the very least…ditch that idea. You will need the course times for your music performance classes, your rehearsals, practice times, and your med school prerequisites.
