Music Major -New notice-for CSULB / Exempt from ELM & EPT testing

@pugmama I emailed Dr. Palkki two days ago and he was able to tell me that I was admitted to the university. The school is just behind on getting the notifications out since they had a record number of 98,000 applicants. However I do recall them saying at the orientation if you meet university requirements to be a student and were denied, if you were accepted to the conservatory you call call and the conservatory faculty can override this and have you accepted. I know this to be true since my friend works in the music department and she tells me that this happens for my time to time

My son got his acceptance e-mail from the school today!! Rob Frear told him Sunday that they were still working out the scholarships… fingers crossed for something!!!

So did my son!!! It came in around 2:30 today! So happy for him and relieved! However, he was unable to access My CSULB still. Is yours able to do that? Congratulations @Jedmom

Thank you @Lostinthecrowd he finally heard. Congratulations to you too.

My son got his yesterday as well! So excited that this part is over…now if only we knew about the scholarships

Woo Hoo, congrats to all your kiddos too!! @pugmama I don’t know if he has tried to log in My CSULB yet, we’re in the middle of our spring musical and time is tight! I’m lucky he even forwarded me the acceptance e-mail to see!! Ha ha!

Any of you hear back about scholarships? Got finincial aid email - just loans… wondering if scholarship would have been listed there or if we are just still waiting on music department to decide…

Hi @Jedmom we haven’t heard anything more since the initial letter and nothing is showing up yet in the Awards in the student portal. Have you?

@pugmama Nope, still waiting. Son’s friend reached out to someone last week and said they were still working on it and it would be later this month when they heard!!! We have to accept music scholarships by May 1st, so… just glad to know we aren’t the only ones, that kid didn’t get the initial letter like our kids did, but they did tell him he would get something.
