Can anyone tell me about the music major at Princeton? Do you apply directly, or just apply to the university and then declare if admitted? My son is a HS junior sax player, definitely interested in jazz. Thanks.

You apply to the university and then just declare music as a major. You can send in an art supplement (a cd I believe) to supplement the application. I don’t know, however, whether the sax supplement can be jazz- you have to check the supplement directions. I know that for voice the music has to classical-but I don’t know what the requirements are for other instruments.
