Music Management at William Paterson in NJ?

We went to the William Paterson University open house last Sunday and were very impressed with the music program. There was a concert with Randy Brecker, and the kids were amazing.

WPU has a music management major with a very strong performance component, that seems like an appealing option -- plenty of performance, but with a smattering of business stuff that might enhance one's chances of making a living. Does anyone know anything about it? I know that the school as a whole doesn't have much of an academic reputation.

The jazz program at Patterson is very highly regarded. Prior posts available by searching tend to confirm your comments on the academic side.

A couple of past threads with some potential alternative options:

WPU has a very good music program and shares some teachers with some of the better-known conservatories in New York City. Their jazz program is particularly strong. You are correct that it is not a top academic school, but that could mean that someone with good grades and test scores who is interested in a music major might have a better than average chance of getting some academic scholarship money thrown their way.

You are correct regarding money at WP for a Jazz Studies students with a strong academic background. My son was accepted to the Jazz Studies Program and received a great financial aid package. They have one of the top Jazz Programs in the country. Out of more than 200 applicants this past year, they accepted 23 into the Jazz Studies program.
