Has anyone actually been to William Paterson University recently to check out a music program? Thoughts? We are considering the Music Business program, but WPU is an in-state school for us and not the top choice for anyone we know…but no one we know is going for Music! It seems to have the credentials in Music Business, but I’m wondering what you thought of the campus, the location, the program itself, etc. We drove through last winter while in the area, and from the road looked a little dated, but so does Rider and that’s got a really good program in MT so I don’t want to judge a book by its cover!
Big fan of William Paterson. My son participated 2x in the summer jazz program and while he ultimately decided not to exclusively pursue Jazz or BM degree, we were all seriously impressed with the facilities, program, access to NYC and especially the faculty. The tuition is also very affordable, when compared to similar NYC programs. Definitely worthy of serious consideration, IMHO. Best wishes.
I have a friend who’s daughter is there and dumbfounded by the talent level of the musicians there. Fantastic, nationally known program. D applied and got in as well. I would absolutely add it to your list.
The campus and location are adequate, but the music facilities are great, as is the talent pool. Our familiarity is mostly limited to the performance programs, but it seems like their Music Industries programs are popular and very active. Which program is he most interested in? There are many nationally recognized kids there. We are out-of-state and still found it to be the most generous and affordable option for us. The music students are pretty organized and arrange carpools into the city several times a week.
Week two, but no regrets yet.
