Does anyone know if music scholarships can be stacked with any merit received? Has anyone sent in an audition yet?
Yes, music scholarships are small and can generally be stacked with the larger merit scholarships. However, there may be exceptions. When I had the full tuition national merit scholarship, the regulations were that any university scholarships above the full tuition (including things like music scholarships) would decrease the national merit scholarship by that amount. I suspect (but do not know for sure) that this is the case with other full tuition scholarships or similar, but wouldn’t be with things like the dean’s scholarship. As always, your best bet is to contact the school (either the music department or financial aid).
Nano basically covered it -
I’ll add in that, since you’re looking at music scholarships, also look into dual-enrollment at the New England Conservatory. While I stopped with formal music performance when I came to Boston, a friend of mine is doing a Biochemistry major and taking night/weekend classes for a music performance major at NEC. While that would be too much time commitment for me, NEC is prestigious and I didn’t know about the dual-enrollment program until a few months into last semester.
@nanotechnology @julianstanley Thanks
Did anyone that auditioned for a music scholarship hear back from NEU yet?
