My choir sang (and went on tour with) Mozart's Requiem last year. Would it be a good idea to send a CD of it to the colleges I'm applying to, or should those supplements be solos only?

Send it in! I'm sending a recording of my school's jazz band, because it shows my involvment in that, plus, as the band's bassist, the rhythm and the progressive movement are dependent on me. Even if it isn't a solo, it will show your involvement and the level at which you and the group perform. It will show your commitment and also that you were invloved in something so huge. Especially since you went on tour, the college will most likely love it and take it into consideration.

Any other opinions?

Of course solos or other supplements of art work would be stronger then a choir CD. I would send it in anyway.

Well, If you have a recording of yourself doing a solo, then by all means, send it in. Solos are indeed better than group work, but if you don't have any options, send the group recording in.
