NO! do not stray from SOAD! they are great, i used to only listen for the music b/c i never got the lyrics i heard "BYOB" (their newest release) and thought about their greatness out side of the great guitar parts and rather in the deep lyrics. "BYOB" is a little easier to understand than stuff from the toxicity album. but if ur not into lyrics just check them out for sum gr8 music.

Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, AC/DC, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Scorpions . . . Find your heavy roots, people.

Metallica is awesome! oo; I can't believe I forgot about them.

BLAH! No offense but Trapt, LP, Good Charlotte = MAJOR GROAN.

THE BUZZC0CKS (replace the 0 with an O) are the best band ever, but they're more like early 70s punk rock. I love silverchair and Sevendust. SLAYER is awesome, folks.

Does anybody listen to non-English bands? I particularly love, in this category, Dir En Grey and Malice Mizer.

But yes, Good Charlotte/Simple Plan sounding-bands are the worst.

Emo is blah/alright. Does anyone listen to ska?

I love sevendust. Its alot like Drowning Pool.

what about the stones and the who nom? can't forget the beatles either.

TEENAGE WASTELAND

they're all wasted.

OH, certainly silveR_hammer! That song is Baba O'Reilly, as I'm sure you know. I was just talking about some of the heavier classic rock bands.

i can't F-ing believe simple plan has a fan group.... "welcome to my life" basicallly tells teens its ok to be suicidal and depressed b/c there are others like them..

ska is good -- REEL BIg FISH

if ne one else has opinions on SOAD write them

[quote=Simple Plan]

Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you ever feel out of place? Like somehow you just don't belong And no one understands you Do you ever wanna runaway? Do you lock yourself in your room? With the radio on turned up so loud That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like When nothing feels all right You don't know what it's like To be like me

To be hurt To feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No you don't know what it's like Welcome to my life
This is only a section of the song, but the rest is pretty much the same as this.

(my opinion)... i can't see how they would mock the subject.... but i personally have seen someone justify their quiet isolated lifestyle, through this band.

i was a little extreme with the whole "tells teens its ok to be deppressed and suicidal" in my last post..... but they are giving teens an idea that by saying "welcome to my life" that there are others like them.

system of a down is cool. but its all about:

WHAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT????? YYEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

representin' yo hood! thats right, all my real ****** proud of dey hood!!!!! yeeaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

"***** ***** whats up?
hell naw you aint gon' ****
all that poppin out yo mouth
gon get you ****** up"
-lil jon

lil jon is the only jon around. not elton jon, not long jon, not jon-son, LIL JON.

"when you step up to dey face what dey gon' do? S***!!!!!"

""in da club wit yo ***** clique i dont give a ****!!!!!"

lil jon is a mastermind, along with descartes, locke, nietzsche and every other genius thinker ever alive.

Simple Plan is a gay band to begin with. So is Lil Jon, who probably has an IQ lower than an ape.

I personally hate SOAD, Mudvayne, most rap and hip hop, a lot of the heavier stuff...

Classic Rock is ok, the Doors are incredible...

As for my favorites, The Arcade Fire, Air, Armor for Sleep, Ratatat, British Sea Power, The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Explosions in the Sky... I could go on and on. Incredible lyrics (Explosions in the Sky and Ratatat are instrumental, though). If you like hip-hop, Ratatat has a hip-hop beat. Heavier still is Tool, which is a very good band too.

Tool and A Perfect Circle are truly great bands. They understand something that most heavy bands do not: music must be composed, even if it IS meant to be played at over 120dB.

oo;;;; Don't tell me there's all guys in this thread....oo;;;;; [shakes in fear of male domination] xD

sneakie, i'm a girl!
and i like:

system
marilyn manson
mudvayne
trapt
some of paparaoch
the late stuff of sum41
breaking benjamin
a perfect circle
slipknot
korn

^they r just the few of the stuff i can think of

whenever i think of simple plan nd goodcharlotte, i think of little pink dressed, boppy girls jumping up and down thinking they are all hard rock and punk.. great eg- HILLARY DUFF

^ Go listen to Cryptopsy, Neuraxis, Necrophagist, Decapitated, Lykathea Aflame, Emperor, or Immortal.

I agree with Sigh, go listen to those bands.

Yes, a Perfect Circle is very good too.

Yay NoFX! [Huggles] :] YOU'RE MY HERO!
