Musical Taste

i'm a rock fan. some favorite bands would be nine inch nails, muse, tool, the mars volta, 30 seconds to mars, nirvana, radiohead...yeah, i could go on, but i'd rather not. i'm kind of a music addict.

yeah, last.fm's are fun. its nice to keep track of what i listen to. plus, if you're into concerts, then there's a cool little thing that will also list all the concerts in your area that you might be interested in based on what you listen to.

lol

Does anyone know why my music isn't scrobbling right now? Is it a delayed reaction or something, because I've listened to like three songs and the Last.fm box is open?

locksley is pretty good...

im really happy that my recently played goes from yann teirsen to the rolling stones to girl talk. last.fm is fun

Ah, is anyone going to help me?

did you try just refreshing? or skip the song thats giving you problems? there was only 1 song that was weird for me, everything else has been running smoothly, so i dont really know how to fix anything

It's not an individual song, it's just not recording the songs on my profile. I'm logged in on the Last.fm thing that's on the desktop. Oh well.

Ivybound11: If you like Locksley, try The Hives, Oasis, The Strokes, and Spoon.

i think locksley is much more pop than the hives and strokes.
some oasis, and some spoon maybe
the kooks and rooney are pretty poppy...

if you like the hives and the strokes, try the libertines, the white stripes, the beatles, and the beach boys, the kinks, and the rolling stones. that was essentially all i listened to 2nd-4th grade. its a lovely combinations.

@foreman: this has happened to me before. i cant remember what i did but you should read the FAQs. they have a whole list of things you could do. really helps! if all else fails, reboot your comp

Yeah, but they don't sound nearly as much like Locksley as The Strokes and The Hives do.

Don't forget Franz Ferdinand and Interpol. ;)

Thanks spazattack!

ah! yeah! haha, i actually listened to those a little later...maybe a year or two later, haha, its the natural progression of things

i love beatles one song... here comes the sun

I'd like to think that Interpol is more on the vein of Joy Division. Pretty much all the songs off their first album have this trippy post-punk feel.

I Want to Hold Your Hand and Yesterday are better songs. :)

Yeah, they've been made fun of so much for their similarities in sound with Joy Division. While Joy Division>Interpol, I still like Interpol.

Oh...oh no you didn't. I Want To Hold Your Hand is a cheesy pop throwaway love song! Comparing that and Yesterday is like saying Young Jeezy is like today's A Tribe Called Quest!

And can someone tell me this: Why does everyone listen to just SONGS and not albums? The album is like a snapshot in time, of everything that artist or band was going through in that short span of time?

lucy in the sky with diamonds. also strawberry fields is super nice. youre talk to a girl who named her dog pepper so on med forms the name is Sergeant, Pepper.

i listen to albums as they were originally intended. i also make people mixtapes on cassettes because music is put in an order for a reason.

I was hardly comparing them. The significance of I Want To Hold Your Hand is incalculable. It was their first number one hit in the U.S., it made them an international phenomenon, and it almost single handedly launched the British Invasion. Oh and that little other fact that it's a great song. Not every song needs to have transcendental lyrics; sometimes, simplicity is the best.

I listen to albums on CD's and stuff. I listen to individual songs on my iPod.

I listen to full albums when I'm going through them the first time and when I'm just chilling at home. When I'm walking to places with my ipod though I usually don't have the patience to sit through entire albums.
