Musical Theater at College of Charleston

D is a Junior and loves Acting & Musical Theater. She is interested also in Arts Management. This looks like a good school for both. I do not see a MT Major, but the school seems to have good Music & Dance. Is it possible to double-major in both Arts Management and Theater, but still take plenty of classes in Voice and Dance? She will be auditioning for MT programs at other schools, but there is so much going for C of Charleston...location, dedication to the arts, Arts Management, solid overall education, that this seems like a great non-audition school for her list.

Bump - anyone have an opinion on this?

I dont know the answer to this question, but there are 2 resources for you. YOu can call admissions and ask. And there is a listserv, for the parents of students at CofC, which I have found a ton of information thru, by posing questions. YOu have to sign up for it, and you can find it thru the Parents link on the CofC web page.

Shaun0203–My daughter will be attending CofC in the fall as a Theatre Major with a concentration in Performance and a minor in Dance. She will also be taking voice lessons every semester. She was accepted to 2 auditioned BFA MT programs, but decided that the BA at CofC was the “fit” for her. Todd McNerney (chair of the Theatre Dept) and Deanna McBroom (director of the Voice Program in the Music Dept) have been so very helpful. They have answered every question we have thrown at them. I’m sure they will tell you what you need to know about double majoring in Theatre and Arts Management.
