I have read in a lot of places that the theater program is well-renowned, but from what I can gather it only produces plays--no musicals of any sort.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction, enlighten me on the theater situation? Are there any musical theater opportunities at Wesleyan? Thanks!

Most musicals at Wesleyan are student produced and The Second Stage Company is often the venue. It’s been around for a gazillion years; its most famous alumnus is Lin-Manuel Miranda:

Well, my son is a pre-frosh (accepted ED) and has been heavily involved with musical (and other) theater up to now and intends to continue that involvement at Wes. Currently, he’s in rehearsals for a prodiuction of Grease.

Bet he’ll be bummed that Into the Woods is this year not next…he was the Wolf in a production last year and loves that show!
