Hi guys!
I attended Cornell Summer School and received a B. I mentioned this on Common App education "college course" section. Should I submit the transcript? Is that required? Will it hurt if I mentioned but don't hand in the transcript? (I don't want colleges to know that I got a B, the only B I got during high school. )
Thanks everyone!

It will be required.

Only a few colleges will require the official transcript as part of the application process. Most will only require it after you commit to attend.

Whenever you apply for admission to a degree program at an accredited college or university in the US, you are obligated to provide an official transcript from every college or university you have ever studied at. No matter where in the world. No matter when. No matter how few credits. No matter the grades. You have to send the transcripts. Period.

Some places will admit you to non-degree status without those records, but you aren’t applying in non-degree status. You are applying for regular undergraduate admissions.

And, I know it stinks to have to request these transcripts, but you do. Not only now, but for the rest of your life whenever you apply for a degree program, or for a job that is the kind that also requires all of your transcripts.

Unfortunately, this little detail is something that institutions like Cornell neglect to tell the HS students who go there for summer classes that will earn them college credit. So let your pals know about it. That way they can choose non-credit courses instead.
