I took the SAT in March without any prep at all and got a 1300/1600. Is it reasonable to try and raise it at least 70 points for the June test. I can start hitting the books now but really focus 5/11 when my last AP test is. I mean I am a bright kid and scored like 97th percentile natl on State-wide tests. Anyone who got around the same score as me and improved their score 50 or more points and has some really good method or habits or book I would really appreciate it. Feel free to pm me.

You should be able to make the 70 point increase for the June test, but you'd need to put alot of time into it. You could always try the ACT. My first SAT confirmed my suspicions that it wasn't for me, so I'm concentrating on the ACT, whcih I'm more confident about anywya.

from like mid august to early october I worked with a PR tutor every other weekend for an hour or so. I only worked on writing multi choice and rc (with more emphasis on the former), but it wasn't all that helpful. anyway, on the psat I got a 221, and the sat I got a 2230 (m 790, rc 750 w 690)

anyway, i signed up to retake it in january. my only prep work was like writing 2 essays (which was what condemned my writing score so much, I got a 9/12 on the nov sat). But like, i didn't do ANYTHING else. I got lucky though and moved up to a 2300 super (my math score dropped 10, rc increased 30 [how? i have no idea], and w 40).

anyway, its definitely possible, though i'd imagine with actual prep, a lot less luck dependent. also, it probably depends on which score you want to improve. it's probably easier to focus on one score and just move that one up
