<p>Can anyone tell me the % of students out of a certain number of students that were admitted under ED this year?</p>

<p>UM ED works like every other ED. UM likes to increase yield so yes, it does like ED applicants. However, it won't accept borderline applicants, instead deferring them to RD admissions, where a lot of borderline applicants will be accepted.</p>

<p>UM will use deferment a lot, simply because it wants to see if it can get a stronger class during RD. However, applying ED and EA give huge advantages to students. Being deferred in ED or EA simply gives you a new chance in RD pool later.</p>

<p>Moral or story. If you like UM, apply EA. If you really like UM apply ED. That way you'll also qualify for a lot of the scholarships.</p>
