One of my D's top schools (Wellesley) requires 2 SAT subject level tests and says that they "prefer" that one of them be quantititative. (This information regarding their quantitative preference was kind of buried on their web site until recently, but is now featured prominently.)

My D took two non-quant SAT2s (US History and Spanish) last year and sent the scores to Wellesley. Very recently, she also took the Math IIC. Unfortunately, she didn't refresh her memory regarding the math on the tests and scored signficantly lower (690).

So here's the issue. Do we send the SAT Math IIc score now-- or just rely on the two non-quantitative subject level tests? By the way, the rest of my daughter's application should not raise red flags regarding her quantitative skills. She got a 4 in AP Calc as a Junior, scored very well on the SAT1 Math, and is taking IB Math as a Senior (a cross between Calc BC and stats).

My sense is to NOT send the Math IIC scores and ignore the school's preerence. What do you think?

How much do you think it would ding her app to exclude a quant SAT2?

By the way, my D HAS a quant SAT2 test score that she COULD send in. She didn't refresh her memory regarding the subject matter before testing, however, and doesn't like the score (690 on the SAT MathIIc).
