So, I looked at the money that UC Davis is about to give me for attending their school.
When I was looking, they didn’t include cal grant. So I was wondering:

Do other future UC Davis students see Cal Grant?
and
Do I need to declare it in additional resources?

If you applied and are entitled for Cal Grant… you should see the award amount listed as “Estimated”. I don’t think it will become final until after your final transcripts are received by Davis.

Cal Grants only has one requirement left to do: “Submit High School Graduation Confirmation You can only certify after graduating. At that time, this link will become available.”

Ah, that makes sense… Cause it’s “On Hold”… Very smart VentureMan… Touche… Can a future UC Davis freshmen verify that they don’t have cal grant on their My Awards? So I can feel more safe =]

Your My Awards should show be in My Awards. the next column should give the amount, the one after that should give its status, as in Estimated/Accepted/Offered/etc… After that it should say Action Required? Yes or None.

I’m confused as to what you mean you don’t see it because its there…make sure to supply the proper documentation if they require it.

On the cal grant website did you make sure to change the school to Davis? I’m pretty sure you put Davis in you fafsa and it should have gone through with your other schools but other than that I don’t see why you wouldn’t see it under My Awards for Davis.

if u applied for the cal grant and did everything else you needed to do (designated davis as your school of attendance), then u should be able to see it in myawards, along with any other aid you’ll be receiving. if you don’t see it, then u should call the financial aid office as soon as possible to find out what’s wrong.

So far I haven’t read one single student who says they see their Cal Grant on MyAwards (Davis) - either it will show up later when all the paperwork is done, or it is already in there as part of your regular scholarship.

If you have a ug scholarship the Cal Grant will just replace it anyway, dollar for dollar.

^Since Davis put me on the waitlist I could always see Cal Grant…the only difference now is that i sent in the papers they asked so it doesn’t say Yes under action required. Also I’m confused by what you stated for UG scholarship. Isn’t two different things because they have different values and when Davis gives the total amount of grants they count them BOTH.

I also know that for the other UC Cal Grant was always there…I suggest calling them instead of listening to any of us here.

I am a continuing student, but my Cal Grant didn’t show up on My Awards either. I called the Fin Aid Office and didn’t get a real answer, other than they would refer my file to someone to review. I then got a letter in the regular mail asking for more verification documents. So I am just guessing that since I was selected for verification that it doesn’t show up until the verifcation is finished. But it also seemed like my phone call ‘got the wheels turning’. So… just like the other people said, I would call them to be sure.

^sorry Haha just reread it and was like what the heck did I type
I was asking you if the UG grant and Cal Grant two different things because on My Awards they show up separately and are added to the total amount of grants for financial aid. Since you posted that if you have UG, Cal grant would replace it; I got confused with how much I’m getting in financial aid.

Cal Grant does not replace the UG Grant… it replaces the Blue & Gold grant. Said another way, Blue & Gold can make up for what Cal grant does not provide.

I just OFFICIALLY graduated. So I just recently clicked the “High School Graduate” thing on the Cal Grant website. I was guessing that was the reason why it didn’t show up on my UCD my awards. and when looking at it, I saw UCLA, so I only recently changed it to Davis. Now I’ma wait to see if the cal grant will update and be added by itself. Thanks for all your help guys.
I’ll keep ya’ll updated.
Worst come to worst, I’ll call. =]
